Course Details. Intensive 1-to-1 Classes As always, all students are exposed to listening and speaking English from the start. We require high levels of student involvement, no first language and mandatory English speaking in the classroom. With this we achieve very rapid improvements in English comprehension, vocabulary and speaking. So why is 'AnaDili English'(tm) so different? 1. Our teachers are all Native English Speakers with University degrees and years of teaching experience. - Our graduates will have a good clear international accent. They will be taught to speak and write with good grammar and to be capable of networking with international clients and colleagues at a professional level. 2. We use intensive classes, our own material and the best of the most modern techniques, particularly those based on the work of Dr. Georgi Lozanov. - Using the best of methods and teachers we are able to progress a student at least twice as quickly as by other standard learning methods. We understand that professional people and students are under very tight time constraints and may not be able to commit to a long course of study. We are highly flexible and design our schedule to achieve the best possible progress, for the time allowed. 3. Our learning environment is friendly, a sitting room setting. Students are the guests in this 'classroom'. They may be placed with a couple of other students of similar ability, age and experience. - This leads to an enjoyable and highly conducive learning experience. 4. We will provide a follow-up course of practice and English usage. - This will allow the client to continue their progress when travelling or when they are too busy for formal classes. We also provide Conversation Circles, which are available to clients, who wish to come and use their newly acquired English skills. 5. We also do, what the best of the English schools do; a. We provide a good grounding in English grammar. b. We prepare students for a range of English language only exams: Cambridge Examinations, TOEIC, etc n.b. We do not prepare students for the KPDS or similar non-exclusively English based programs. |
Course Details. 1-to-1 Intensive English Classes - Three Hour and Six Hour Classes They are specially designed around the needs of the students. We focus on speaking, reading and listening skills and on the areas of grammar where the student is weak. We train the student to manage his own English language development and to improve his own study and practice skills. Conversation circles. Conversation classes are available to consolidate the new language skills and to provide practice where it is not yet available for the client. It is generally used as part of our Intensive Course follow up or for clients who just want some practice. They are not teaching classes, they are a chance for the student to practice their English and have immediate problems resolved. So I 'invented' and tested my own, using friendly relaxed environments, video techniques, listening techniques, music, plays, real business sources, student over-extension, role-playing. presentations and performance methods. I snuck them into my classrooms, always aware of the dissaproval of old fashioned teachers, but also aware of the satisfaction, happiness and progress of my students. It was years later that I discovered that I had not 'invented' anything original, that the techniques I was using, though not well known, were used by a small group of innovative teachers. They were due to the pioneering work of an educational scientist, Dr. Georgi Lozanov. I was both excited that I was supported in my conclusions, but a bit miffed that I had not been as original as I had thought. However his work has given me the courage to work only with these, the best and most enjoyable methods of learning English. It is hard work for the teacher, but that is nothing compared to the satisfaction of a job well done and the appreciation of my students.' |
